Georgium Palace and Garden
The Georgium, named after Prince Franz’s younger brother, Prince Johann Georg, is art-historically, apart from the Wörlitz Park, the most important English-style landscape garden within the Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz. Numerous architectures such as the Guest House, the Ionic Temple and the ‘Wallwitzburg’ (castle) are harmoniously embedded into the extensive landscape garden.
Today, the Georgium Palace is home to the Anhalt Picture Gallery with the largest collection of ancient art in Saxony-Anhalt, including major works of Lucas Cranach the Elder.
