On 31st October 1517 Martin Luther nailed his ninety-five theses to the main door of the Castle Church which triggered the Reformation. Today the graves of Martin Luther and his friend and reformer Philipp Melanchthon are located inside the church.
The Castle Church was listed as UNESCO-World Heritage Site in 1997.
Due to restoration works regarding the Reformation Anniversary 2017, there are certain restrictions for visiting the Castle Church. For more information please contact the Info Center.

The Wittenberg Castle Church is fully accessible for wheelchair users. All the entrances are located at ground level.
