Bauhaus Building Dessau
The Bauhaus, founded in Weimar in 1919 and moved to Dessau in 1925, takes a major role in the history of 20th century culture, architecture, design and art. As one of the first schools of design the Bauhaus laid the foundation stone for modern architecture. Walter Gropius, architect of the Bauhaus building, became its first director.
